Rogue Code vs Windsurf

Windsurf is now called Devin Desktop.

On June 2, 2026, Windsurf became Devin Desktop, Cognition's AI IDE. Rogue Code is a native vibe coding app, in Rust: the first launch is a spoken conversation, and what you ask for comes out in a folder you own, with the preview beside the chat.

Welcome, I'm Rogue.

First, what should I call you?

Ana

Rogue speaks out loud. Mute or skip anytime.

The first launch, line by line

Rogue talks out loud and the words show up the moment they're said. Every answer sets something real up in the app, and the app's window builds itself behind the conversation.

  1. Rogue

    Welcome, I'm Rogue.

First, what should I call you?

    You

You type your name, and Rogue uses it in the lines that follow.

  2. Rogue

    Nice to meet you, Ana!

    Which language should we speak?

    You

Portuguese or English. The whole app follows your choice.

  3. Rogue

    Perfect, English it is.

Now pick the backdrop for your sessions.

    You

Christ the Redeemer, Copacabana, Jaguar or the Rogue grid. The backdrop changes live, on the app's real window behind the conversation.

  4. Rogue

    Looking good.

    And where are we building?

    You

A folder you already have, a new one or none. Rogue explains it in one line: “A project is a folder on your computer. I work inside it, and nothing leaves it unless you ask.”

  5. Rogue

    One last thing.

Sign in to your Rogue account and we can start.

    You

You sign in through the browser; the app never sees your password.

  6. Rogue

    You're all set, Ana.

Just tell me what you want to build.

    You

Hold ⌥ Space and talk, or start typing: the request becomes your first session.

The preview is the real site

Scroll the page in the window: it's the site that came out of a session, as it shows in Rogue Code's browser panel. Rogue starts the project by itself, and the page reloads on every saved file.

Vibe coding, without an IDE

Vibe coding is building by describing the result in plain words and letting AI write the code, while you follow what shows up on screen. In Rogue Code that's the normal way to work: you ask, Rogue builds in your folder and the preview opens beside the chat.
