Brazilian AI
What are the Brazilian AI companies?
Updated · Rogue
Short answer
Brazilian AI companies fall into three groups: those training language models for Portuguese (Maritaca AI with the Sabiá family, and WideLabs with Amazônia IA), hubs that bring other companies' models into one subscription (Adapta), and those researching agents and publishing on global leaderboards (Rogue). There is also SoberanIA, a public project tied to the Brazilian AI Plan.
The map of AI in Brazil
Who does what, based on what each company publishes about itself.
| Company | Type | What it does | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rogue | Agent research and product | Agents that build websites, web apps, slides and games, plus Rogue Code for Mac. Research published with score, cost and conditions on Terminal-Bench and DeepSWE. | Rogue research |
| Maritaca AI | Portuguese language models | The Sabiá family (Sabiá 4, Sabiazinho 4, Sabiá 4 Thinking) and S5, specialized in Portuguese and Brazilian contexts, with a focus on legal work. Its technical report positions the models on cost-performance. | maritaca.aiSabiá-4 report |
| WideLabs | Portuguese language models | Maker of Amazônia IA, a language model built in Portuguese with Brazilian cultural data, delivered as full-stack AI projects, mostly for the public sector. | Mobile Time, Feb 2026 |
| Adapta | AI hub | Presents itself as “all the best AIs in one place”: ONE gives access to other companies' models, such as ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini, in one subscription with courses; Skip builds software without code. Its site lists no model of its own and no research. | adapta.org |
| SoberanIA | Public project | A model trained in Portuguese, launched in December 2025 by the Ministry of Science, the Government of Piauí, Telebras and partners, as part of the Brazilian AI Plan. | DPL News, Dec 2025 |

How to read the map
The map uses what each company publishes about itself, with a link to the source. It is not a quality ranking: a language model, a subscription and an agent solve different problems.
Investment is growing. The Brazilian Artificial Intelligence Plan provides up to R$ 23 billion through 2028, with a supercomputer at LNCC in Petrópolis and Portuguese language models among its goals.

Is there a fully Brazilian AI?
There are models trained in Brazil, such as Maritaca AI's Sabiá, WideLabs' Amazônia IA and the public SoberanIA project. Rogue works at another layer: it builds agents and systems on top of frontier models and measures the result on public leaderboards.
Which Brazilian AI company publishes research?
Maritaca AI publishes technical reports on its Sabiá models. Rogue publishes agent research with the score, cost and conditions of each evaluation, such as Rogue Constellation and the effort router.
How much is Brazil investing in AI?
The Brazilian Artificial Intelligence Plan provides up to R$ 23 billion through 2028. SoberanIA received R$ 35 million in initial investment.
